This weekend was Father’s Day and to celebrate our family decided to try Christopher’s – A Neighborhood Place. This is a new restaurant that opened up in our neighborhood. We enjoy visiting, shopping, or dining at local businesses and restaurants. It puts our money right back into our own community and it helps creates relationships with neighbors.
To avoid a Father’s Day crowd we decided to go to Christopher’s – A Neighborhood Place on Saturday. It was the smart thing to do as we had virtually no wait time before getting a table. There are paper place mats for kids to color and entertain themselves at the table. I never take such inclusions for granted! When you have four boys it is truly nice when a place has made an effort to provide a children’s activity pre- meal.
One of the things that really shone for us as a family was how attentive our server and the manager were to my children with food allergies. They had fries for the boys cooked in a special fryer! The boys loved them. Between them they enjoyed pasta, quesadilla, and mac and cheese and vanilla shake treats. My husband and I can also attest to the great quality of the calamari, blackened shrimp salad, and grilled flank steak.
I selected Christopher’s as a restaurant of the week for many reasons: they are new to my neighborhood, the food is delicious, and their service is amazing. Another element to what makes them so special is how much pride they take in supporting organic and local farms. Their produce comes from Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative and their gluten-free baked goods come from Taffets Bakery.
